National School Counselors Week Happy National School Counselors Week to Mrs. Vipperman

With Mrs. Vipperman as our school counselor, "everything is possible." She has a "passion first" for helping others, "lives to give" students opportunities to experience success academically and emotionally, "connects" students to learning more about career opportunities, and as a whole is a crucial part to making JA great. It's because of this that we have an "attitude of gratitude" for Mrs. Vipperman and are happy to celebrate her this week!

Retired Educators Day 2021 Retired Educators Day

Sunday, November 7th is Retired Educators Day. We are so thankful for all of our retired educators who have made lasting impacts on our school system. We will always remember the difference you have made!

Welcome to Jefferson Academy!

My name is Christopher Whitworth and I am both honored and privileged to serve as your child's Principal. We, at JA, are proud of our partnerships that support the enhancement of our students' educational journeys and know that it takes our surrounding community, staff, and families, in collaboration, to set a vision so that all of our students reach their highest potential and have a great experience in school.

We will build upon our students' many assets and continue to support rigorous instruction to meet all of our students' individual needs. We are a team every step of the way! I encourage you to read daily with your child, have them prepared to start the school day on time, and be well-rested. Please make it a practice and priority to maintain communication with your child's teacher. It is critical for your child to see the time you invest in their education.

I believe it is extremely important for your child to know his or her school administrators, and I will work hard to make sure that happens. I hold myself accountable for being visible in the hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms. My hope is that you and your child find me both approachable and easy to speak to and you won't hesitate to contact me if you ever have questions, concerns, or just want to share good news about your child or our school. I want you to feel welcome to stop by school, whether it's to volunteer, have lunch with your child, or to simply say hello.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at JA!
