ParentSquare: The Official Communications Platform for Jefferson City Schools
Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, ParentSquare is the official communication platform for Jefferson City Schools. District announcements, school updates and classroom communication will all be delivered through ParentSquare. ParentSquare helps keep you informed and connected by bringing district, school and classroom communications together in one convenient place.
What is ParentSquare?
ParentSquare is a secure communication platform designed specifically for K-12 schools. It allows the district, schools and teachers to communicate with families using one unified system. You can receive school information through the ParentSquare mobile app, email, text message, voice or a web browser, depending on notification preferences.
How Do I Sign Up?
Your child’s school will most likely send you an invitation email or text to join ParentSquare, and you’ll click a link to activate your account. If you are a parent and the Infinite Campus Parent Portal contains your contact details, you can use your email or phone number to set up your account without the invitation. What to do:
- Find the email from your school and click to get started.
- Or, go to parentsquare.com/signin (you can also install the ParentSquare app) and follow the prompts to register.
- Use Google single sign-on, your email or your phone number to set up your account. Your email/phone number must match contact details in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for this to work.
- If your contact details aren’t recognized, email ParentSquare@jeffcityschools.org to get them added. After your information is updated in the database, the new contact details will appear in ParentSquare after the next daily sync, and you will be able to create an account.
Important Note: After you are added to ParentSquare by your school, you will receive school communications even if you have not registered your account. However, you will need to register your account in order to participate in two-way communications and to access any confidential student-specific documents or forms.

What to ExpectAn account has already been created for each parent and guardian using the contact information from the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. You will receive an email to activate your account prior to the start of school. At the start of the school year, you can expect district announcements, school news, classroom updates, event information, forms and messages from the school system, schools, teachers and staff through ParentSquare. If you activated your ParentSquare account last year, you do not need to activate it again.
Before School Starts
- Download the ParentSquare app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Activate your account.
- Set your language preferences.
- Verify your email address and phone number are current in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
- Choose your notification preferences (how and when you would like to receive messages).

What's the Difference Between ParentSquare and the Infinite Campus Parent Portal?
While both are important tools for Jefferson City Schools families, they serve different purposes. Use Infinite Campus Parent Portal to monitor your student's information and ParentSquare to stay connected with Jefferson City Schools.
- The Infinite Campus Parent Portal is where you access your student's information, including grades, attendance, schedules, report cards and other student records.
ParentSquare is the school system's official communication platform. This platform is used for district, school and classroom announcements, important updates, reminders and messages from teachers and staff.
Can I Still Receive Updates Without the ParentSquare App?
Yes. Even if you do not download the ParentSquare app, you will still receive urgent and emergency alerts from Jefferson City Schools and your child's school using the contact information on file with the district.
