Jefferson City Schools encourages all of our families to complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application each year to determine eligibility for reduced-price or free meals.
Applications for free or reduced-price meals are accepted year-round; however, families should complete the application before the start of school so their children can receive eligible benefits right away. Families unsure whether their children are eligible are encouraged to complete the form.
For the 2026-2027 school year, families approved for Reduced Meals will pay $0 for breakfast and lunch because the Georgia Department of Education is covering the reduced-price copays.
Only one application is needed per household, and all information is private and confidential. The easiest and fastest way to apply is through the Parent Portal (click More and then click Meal Benefits). Once in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, click on MORE and then click MEAL BENEFITS.
Paper copies are available upon request at each of our schools.
Students receiving SNAP and/or TANF food assistance are eligible for free meals, and these families are still encouraged to complete and submit the application before the first day of school on July 30, 2026.
By completing the Free and Reduced Meal application, students deemed eligible for free or reduced meals may also become eligible for a variety of scholarship opportunities, as well as waivers and/or reductions in application or exam fees for the SAT, ACT or AP exams, among others.
