National Nutrition Month

The Jefferson City School System’s Nutrition Program is a partner in education, contributing to the academic success of students by encouraging a lifetime of healthy eating through our breakfast and lunch meal programs.  All of our school facilities provide meals that adhere to the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Our meals incorporate a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat and fat-free milk and dairy products, and lean proteins while limiting the amount of sodium and saturated fats. We strive to incorporate these items into delicious and nutritious menu items, which are prepared and served by caring, dedicated, professional staff in a friendly environment.
