Great school boards recognize the importance of meeting individual needs of students, while placing strong emphasis on high expectations for teaching and learning. Not all students walk through the school doors with the same needs; therefore, strategic planning is critical to ensure success for all students. Programs and services must be designed to meet unique learning needs in order for all students to achieve their maximum potential.
Mrs. Angela D’Zamko, who has served as a board member for over twenty years, is inspired by the belief that all students can be successful given the right support. She is interested in the success of all students in the district, and states, “Doing what’s right and fair for all children motivates me.” She further states, “I love our community and want all students to succeed in education and find what makes them happy.”
During her tenure as a board member, Mrs. D’Zamko believes the most significant change in education has been the growth in the student population. Additionally, she believes funding and managing the growth in population will be the biggest challenges in the future.
Mrs. D’Zamko, whose motto is to always be kind, is a 1985 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is married to Erik D’Zamko and is also the mother of three Jefferson High School graduates, Madyson, Morgan, and Maverick. In her spare time, Mrs. D’Zamko enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, boating, and swimming.
Thank you, Mrs. D’Zamko, for your service on the Jefferson City School System Board of Education. Your sincere commitment to ensuring equity among all students in Jefferson City Schools is an essential element leading to success.
