Update: Meal operations during COVID-19 closures

Posted On: Monday, April 27, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Jefferson City School District recognizes hardships and circumstances related to COVID-19 that families may experience in the near future.

While the school does not qualify for meal funding during a campus closure, we will continue to do our part to ensure students receive two meals a day until classroom instruction resumes on campus.

Hot meals will be served during a curbside pick-up on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Jefferson Elementary School parking lot located in front of the cafeteria from 10:00 am – noon. Hot meals are free of charge for all students.

JCS has partnered with local organizations to help prepare meal sacks with breakfast and lunch items for student and parent/guardian pick-up beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020. We will have four locations across Jackson County where students may report Monday through Friday. Location times and sites will be announced in a follow-up message tomorrow, March 17th. Meal sacks are free of charge. Students will be verified using school rosters.

If there are additional needs the district can help reach, please contact Director of Nutrition Sue Hamm at Shamm@jeffcityschools.org

Thank you,

Jefferson City Schools
