Principal Chris Whitworth, Lead Instructional Teacher Samantha Barrett, Data Coordinator Lori Alexander, and AP Mrs. Carol Ann Knight showcase the 2020 Title I Distinguished School Award banner. As part of the "Mask-up Dragons" initiative and Extended Learning Time, JA students created tie dye masks and connected the project to our "Physical Changes" standard. Jefferson Academy donated Clorox wipes to Amazon following the COVID-19 pandemic. Amazon has
generously returned the donation to JA with triple the amount of wipes. JA will use these wipes in classrooms and during the PLUS after school program. JA would like to thank Amazon, Site Leader Geena Menge, and Workplace Health and Safety Manager Rochelle Broussard for their partnership in helping to keep the community safe. Kaleigh Payne, a student at Jefferson Academy, was congratulated by First Lady Melania Trump for her participation in “Building the Movement: America’s Youth Celebrate 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage” to honor the centennial anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
