    Due to potential, unpredictable weather conditions as a result of Hurricane Ian, the varsity football game originally scheduled for Friday, September 30th against Winder-Barrow has been moved to Thursday, September 29th at 7:30 PM at Jefferson Memorial Stadium. In addition, alumni night and the 2012 State Championship Football Team recognition have been rescheduled for Friday, October 21st. More specific details regarding these events will be communicated at a later date.

JES Named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School blue ribbon

The Jefferson City School System is proud to announce that Jefferson Elementary School has been recognized as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. All schools, both public and private, are eligible for this prestigious award based on outstanding school performance and may only be nominated once every five years. Earlier today, Miguel Cardona, U.S. Secretary of Education, announced 297 schools as recipients of the National Blue Ribbon Schools award.

JES Presents Author David Biedrzycki author visit

The JES library proudly presents the very talented author David Biedrzycki. Mr. Biedrzycki will be visiting JES from September 13th through September 16th! He will be presenting to all JES students (Pk-2nd). JES students are invited to order a book to be signed by Mr. Biedrzycki during his visit! Book Fair (August 25 - September 1) book fair

The JES Book Fair will be held from August 25th until September 1st. Students will shop during their library class. Pre-K students can shop at any time. A parent shopping night will be held on August 30th from 3:30 PM until 7:00 PM. Payments can be made via cash, check, or gift cards purchased through Revtrack. BioSTEAM Spring Family Day & Art Show Spring family day

Join us Saturday, April 23rd, for a Spring Family Day and Art Show at the Wetlands from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Transportation will be provided from Jefferson Memorial Stadium throughout the day. Bring your rain boots, and be prepared to get your feet wet! We hope to see you there.

Jefferson Elementary School is excited to announce that all Pre-K through 2nd-grade students will "Read with Malcolm" at the JHS Arena on Monday, April 18th. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Jefferson City School System Foundation for sponsoring this Reading Rally and providing every child with a copy of My Very Favorite Book, written by Malcolm Mitchell. Pre-K Registration Deadline Extended Through April 15th pre-k deadline extended

The Jefferson Elementary School Pre-K registration deadline has been extended until April 15th! JCS is excited to announce that we now have 8 fully funded Pre-K classes, all of which will continue to be housed at JES. In addition, Mrs. Beckwith has been named the Director of Early Learning. In her new role, she will be overseeing the Pre-K program and coordinating services, resources, and training opportunities for families with children ages birth to three years old. PLUS will be available to those students who need afterschool care. We would love to have you be a part of Jefferson City Schools! Registration information can be found here

Pre-K Registration for the 2022-2023 school year

Pre-K registration packets for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year will be accepted from March 1 - March 24th. Please see the attached information sheet for more details.

New Pre-K Class New Pre-K Class

JES will be adding a new Pre-K class for the remainder of this school year. This class is intended for four-year old students who reside in-district, and are not currently enrolled in another program. After school care will not be provided. Please complete the linked form by Wednesday, February 23rd if you would like your child's name added to the list for this class.


Pink/Red Out Flyer

JES students may wear red or pink on Valentine's Day for a $1 donation. All money raised will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

JES Celebrates the 100th and 101st Days of School

JES Pre-K and K students celebrated the 100th Day of School on January 19th by dressing up like they were 100 years old. First graders celebrated the 101st Day of School on January 20th with Dalmatian Day. Check out the photo gallery or our facebook page for pictures of the fun!

*Dress up days are optional. Students who choose not to participate should remain in uniform.*
Thursday and Friday are early release days.

City of Jefferson Implementing Traffic Safety Program to Reduce Speeding in School Zones School Zone Speed Enforcement Program

Please be mindful of the School Zone Automated Photo Speed Enforcement Program coming to our District. The enforcement will begin Wednesday, December 16, 2020. A warning period will be given until February 1, 2021.
