Thursday, June 10 - The Mull of Kintyre... a most
excellent adventure
pg. 1 - pg. 2 - pg 3 - pg. 4 - pg. 5 - pg. 6 - pg. 7 - pg. 8 - pg. 9 - pg. 10
![]() The Mull of Kintyre, as you can see, is one of the most scenic spots on the coast |
![]() The challenge is the walk down to the lighthouse and back up again. From the parking area there is about a thousand foot drop in elevation by the time you get to the lighthouse. Yes, it is as long a walk as it appears to be. |

![]() Here's the crew at the bottom. |
![]() Erinn presents the Mull |
![]() The foghorn... see how it looks a little dark at the top? That's because Ireland (only 12 miles\across the water) was sending a little present to us... a genuine Scottish gully washer which hit us about a fourth of the way up the hill. We SAID to bring rain jackets... right? |
![]() Local hero saves Jefferson Teacher! This gentleman, lighthouse keeper Sandy Cummings, upon seeing our plight, miraculously appeared behind us on the path going up the mountain, and gave a ride for a few of the stragglers. The unnamed teacher above would probably still be trying to get to the top if it weren't for Mr. Cummings. Somewhere in the future I'm going to have a school named after him... or something. |
