St. Jude's Math-A-Thon Results

A big thanks to all students who helped
to make this year's Math-a-thon a success. This year,
JMS raised

graders welcomed veterinarian, author, and UGA Professor
Emeritus Dr. John McCormack. Author of a series of
humorous books about life as a veterinarian in rural
Alabama, Dr. McCormack shared with students his love of
working with animals and the people who own them.
As writer James Herriot reviewed, "A heartwarming read
for the animal lover." Books will be available for
checkout in the library media center or at your public
library.

JMS Academic Bowl
 |
The JMS Academic team
won 3 out of 5 games at the PAGE Middle School regional
competition. Because of snow day rescheduling, we
played with almost half a team. Congratulations to
these students for playing an entire tournament with no
alternates!

UGA Middle School Band Festival |

Congratulations to these
nine JMS students for being
selected to attend the 2009 UGA Middle School Band
Festival in Athens, Dec. 10-12th. Students spent
the many hours in rehearsals with top band directors
from around the country in preparation for their feature
concerts on Saturday. |
