Synthesis  is organizing your information into a product.  The product for this project will be a paper. 

Make sure that the information you have gathered fully answers your questions.  If you still have questions unanswered, you are not ready to write.  Go back to step #4 and talk to your teacher or librarian!

You may find all the answers to your questions (some may be unknown), but if you feel that you could complete your paper with the notes you have taken, you may begin step #5!

Our recommendation:

1. Create an outline

2. Add value to the paper by including your ideas along with the information you found.  Make sure that your paper is more than just a summary of what you found in books and online. 

3. Create a rough draft

4. Edit and proofread your paper

5. Create a final draft

6. Include a Works Cited page of your bibliography

7. Read #6: Evaluation to make sure that you have created the best paper possible!  Remember: you will not do well if you do the wrong assignment!
