| BIG 6 Steps |
SURVIVAL! |
| #1: Task Definition |
Location and Access is finding your answers in the resources you have chosen. Encyclopedia: Find your tribe in the Encyclopedia. This will help you quickly locate your tribe and give you a short description--a great place to start! Books: Find the book on your Native American tribe. Remember to use the table of contents and the index to help you locate answers quickly. Skimming and scanning are also useful--use headings and the first sentences in paragraphs to quickly find relevant sections. Internet: The free web often has valuable information, but subscription sites (sites we pay for) are much more reliable as sources. It's o.k. to Google information, but remember that ANYONE can put information on the Internet (even your little brother or sister--would you use their information for your paper?!). Warning: All sites below are links that are not affiliated to the Jefferson City School system. Jefferson City Schools is not responsible for the content on these sites.
