Welcome to the JMS Academic Team website.  All students who would like to participate can apply for a chance to be one of the "Great Eight" students who will represent JMS in the Spring 2011 Georgia Academic Team Association (GATA) Competition. Even if you don’t make the final team this spring, there are many other opportunities for competition and practice.  We encourage students to join now so we can build a strong team for next year's statewide PAGE Academic Bowl competition.  6th and 7th graders are especially encouraged!

The PAGE Academic Bowl began in 1983.  More than 2,200 students across Georgia compete in this quiz competition.  It is a team competition during which students answer questions based on the Georgia Middle School curriculum: English/Literature, Math, Science, Social Studies/History (including Georgia), Geography, Current Events, Art/Music, Physical Education/Health, and Computer Science.
