Mandy Meyer, Jefferson Academy Teacher of the Year

    Mandy Meyer has been selected for the 2018 Jefferson Academy Teacher of the Year Award. 

    Mrs. Meyer grew up in Stone Mountain Ga, and graduated from nearby Tucker High School.

    After her high school graduation in 1999 she was able to attend Butler University, IN with a swimming scholarship.

    There, she received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2003.

    During the same year she began teaching in DeKalb County at Ashford Park Elementary until 2006, when she moved schools to Gwinnett County Public School.

    Then, in 2008, she attended Kennesaw State University to earn her master's degree in Elementary Education.

    She continued to teach at Gwinnett County until 2016 when she and her family made the final move to Jefferson City Schools and has taught 4th grade ever since.

    She is married to Justin, a social studies teacher at Jefferson High School and has three daughters Allyson, Macy, and, Emmy.
