Danielle Montgomery was chosen to be the 2018 Jefferson High School Teacher of the Year.
She has been teaching English Language Arts for thirteen years.
After she earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, Ms. Montgomery eagerly began her teaching career in Douglasville, Georgia at Chestnut Log Middle School.
She went back to school to get her Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia and then moved to Barrow County where she taught English Language Arts at Winder-Barrow High School for six years.
Next, she came to Jefferson High School in 2013 where she continues to teach 9th and 12th Grade ELA and Journalism.
Ms. Montgomery is the sponsor of The Washington Street Journal, JHS’s student newspaper as well as the Video Game Club.
She actively serves as a teacher representative for the JHS School and Community Council.
Ms. Montgomery is currently enrolled in a Specialist program at Kennesaw State University and will graduate in May with a degree in Instructional Technology.
