Jefferson Baseball vs Gainesville

Saturday March 5th, the Dragons took on the Gainesville Red Elephants. Gainesville looked dominant, winning the game 6-3. Gainesville jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the first inning. Offensively, the game slowed down until the fourth, Gainesville then scored 1 more, but the Dragons were able to answer back with 3 runs. Ryan Godfrey was able to knock in 1 run  with a double, then the remaining 2 runs were brought in by Sammy Elegreet, hitting a line shot to right center. This is where the offensive run by the dragons came to a stop. Gainesville’s Collier Scott was dominant on the mound for the remainder of the game, finishing with 6 strikeouts through a complete game. Until the seventh, the Dragons were on top 3-2, Gainesville was able to score 4 in the top of the seventh, the Dragons were unable to answer back causing them to lose the game at a final score of 6 to 3. Gainesville's Collier Scott was credited with the win, Lane Watkins of Jefferson got the Loss. Jefferson’s record now holds to 6 and 2, the Dragons will play again at Gainesville on Wednesday March 7th.
