Wednesday March 7th, the Dragons took on the Gainesville Red Elephants in a loss 7 to 1. On the mound for the Dragons was Brandon Trefren. Through 2 and two thirds innings, he gave up 7 hits, and 6 earned runs. Gainesville was looking dominant at the plate, especially in the third inning where they racked up 5 runs. Following Trefren’s first innings, Vinny Farley was able to clean it up defensively for the Dragons, pitching the remainder of the game he allowed only 1 run off of four hits. Unfortunately, the Dragons were unable to strike back offensively, only scoring 1 run in the second inning, but were shutout the rest of them game. Brandon Trefren was credited with the loss, and Gainesville’s Kyle York got the win. The Dragons next game will be March 9th, they will be hosting Gainesville for the final game in the series.
