Cross Country Teams Performs Well at Lamar Murphy Meet

Jefferson's high school cross country teams performed well as a team and as individuals at Saturday, August 26th at Lamar Murphy Park.  Jefferson's varsity boys finished third overall with two top twenty-five finishes by Derek Hildebrand with seventh place, and Justice Ogbe with twenty-second place. Jefferson's varsity girls finished fifth overall with two top twenty-five finishes by Maggie Dyer who placed fourth, and Caitlin Schroeder who placed eleventh. The JV boys finished first as a team with several individuals placing in the top twenty-five. Levi Holliday came in third, Clay Hester came in seventh, Carter Bass came in tenth, Copper Gibson came in fifteenth, Riley Thornton came in seventeenth, and Carter Hensley came in eighteenth. JV girls placed fifth with Sierra Tresner placing twentieth, and McKenna Lay placing twenty-fourth. The cross country team travels to North Oconee High School for their next meet on Thursday, September 7th.
