There's a Surge for STEM as Robotics Season Kicks-off

The Jackson County 4-H Robotics Team 2019 season is just around the corner. The kick-off meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 12th. At this meeting, all of the logistics of the program will be discussed, and all new members will be informed about the team and what it has to offer.

The team's 2018 season was their most successful season since the start of the program in 2012. The team preformed well enough to be able to compete in Houston, Texas at the World Championship. They ended the season ranked 6th in the state of Georgia.

This program is extremely helpful to students who are interested in the STEM field. All of the 9 senior members last year have graduated and are heading to college, to pursue an education in STEM. Out of the 9 members, 4 of them were accepted into the Georgia Institute of Technology, and will be starting school there within the upcoming weeks. There is no doubt that this program brings major opportunities, when it comes to a STEM career.
