JHS Guidance and Counseling Department Philosophy
We believe
that the roles of the Professional School Counselor and the Graduation Coach are
essential to education.
We
believe
every student can learn and is capable of achieving success in his/her academic
studies.
We
believe
we are responsible for delivering a highly effective counseling program to all
JHS students.
We
believe
we can provide every student with the skills and tools necessary for career,
academic, social, and personal development.
We
believe
that all faculty, staff, parents, students, and community members are key
players in making the counseling program at JHS beneficial and successful.
We
believe
that we must identify the needs and risks of our students and that we must focus
on providing preventive guidance, counseling and intervention.
We
believe
in the rules of confidentiality and pledge to adhere to these rules, and to
perform our jobs ethically using the guidelines set by state and national
professional organizations.
