The Dragon
Diner is a new character education recognition program implemented by the
character education committee this year. Students are chosen by peers in their
classrooms for demonstrating the character education word of the month.
The nomination process is as follows:
-
Pre-K teachers select a student in their homerooms each month who has exemplified
the character education word of the month to attend the Dragon Diner.
-
Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers select 3 students in their homerooms who exemplified
the character education word of the month and the students vote on one to
attend the Dragon Diner.
-
2nd grade students nominate their peers with a nomination form, place it in a
ballot box, and a single name is drawn out to attend the Dragon Diner.
-
Each teacher completes a nomination form for the student selected by their
classroom. This form is submitted electronically and a digital picture of the
student is added. A copy is sent home to parents and one is posted on the
bulletin board in the lunchroom.
-
A letter goes home to parents recognizing the students.
