Dottie was trained by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind based in Smithtown New York.  After completing her training she has come to be a very welcome addition to Jefferson Elementary School.   Dottie attends school at JES every day.  She happily greets students every morning, visits them in their classrooms and spends time working with several students every day.  After Dottie was introduced on the morning video announcements, she has received lots of letters from students inviting her to come visit their class.  Dottie is determined to make a special visit to each classroom and meet every student at JES before Winter Break!

This Pre-K student wrote a letter to Dottie with absolutely no help.  When Ms. Underwood told her how much Dottie enjoyed it, she replied, "Well, it was A LOT of work!"   Click here to see the letter.
