After reading Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown, first graders at JES got busy sending their own "Flat Stanley" to everyone they knew. JES got pictures of Flat Stanley posing with people from all over the world. One class even got a picture of Flat Stanley posing with President Bush's two dogs!

Be a Part of the "Helping Hands" Community

Jefferson Elementary recently hosted a breakfast for the approximately 30 volunteers that partnered with JES in providing "Helping Hands" services to many JES students. Volunteers visit with their assigned student once a week to tutor, mentor, or even just read a book to selected students. Community members interested in becoming a part of the JES Helping Hands Program should contact Dan Gray at (706) 367-1392.
