MINUTES OF MEETING
AUGUST 1, 2005
THE JEFFERSON CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION MET IN CALLED SESSION ON AUGUST 1, 2005, AT 5:00 P.M. IN THE JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER. THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING WAS TO APPROVE THE JEFFERSON ACADEMY PHASE I GRADING BID. THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: MR. RONALD K. HOPKINS, CHAIRMAN; MRS. GUY DEAN BENSON; MR. DERRELL CROWE; MR. WILLIE HUGHEY; MRS. ANGELA MCKINNEY; AND MR. DAMON WILBANKS. ALSO PRESENT WERE: DR. JOHN M. JACKSON, SUPERINTENDENT AND MR. ALAN LUTON, THE JACKSON HERALD REPORTER.
CALL TO ORDER
THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA
ON MOTION BY MR. WILBANKS AND SECOND BY MRS. MCKINNEY, THE AGENDA FOR THE AUGUST 1, 2005 MEETING WAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.
ACTION ITEM
APPROVE JEFFERSON ACADEMY PHASE I GRADING BID
THE SUPERINTENDENT INFORMED THE BOARD THAT BIDS FOR THE PHASE I GRADING FOR THE JEFFERSON ACADEMY WERE OPENED JULY 21, 2005. HE RECOMMENDED THAT THE LOW BID SUBMITTED BY SIMPSON TRUCKING BE APPROVED. ON MOTION BY MR. HUGHEY AND SECOND BY MR. CROWE, THE RECOMMENDATION WAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
