Spanish at Jefferson Academy

 

 

 

 

I am Heather Maxwell, the Spanish teacher at Jefferson Academy.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from North Georgia College and State University (1999), my Master of Arts degree in Spanish from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain (2002), and my Education Specialist degree from Piedmont College (2006).  I am married and enjoy spending time with family and friends.  Teaching the bright young minds in Jefferson is a delight, each day is rewarding. 

 

Third Grade:

This year in Third Grade, we will be doing the following thematic units:  El cuerpo (the body), La ropa (clothing), ¿Qué hay en la escuela? (What is in the school?), Tener + (to be cold/hot/hungry/thirsty), Me gusta + comida (I like foods, Pablo Picasso, and Myths of Latin America.  (If time allows, we will do a unit on Goldilocks, Ricitos de Oro.)

 

 

Fourth Grade: 

This year in Fourth Grade, we will be doing the following thematic units:  Los números & el dinero (numbers and money), Las Emociones (Emotions), Don Quijote, Me gustan + los deportes (I like sports, Blancanieves (Snow White), Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera

 

 

 

 

 

Fifth Grade: 

In Fifth Grade this year, we will be compiling a Workbook for beginning Spanish readers and writers, and beginning -AR Verb Conjugations.
